Obituary for Ronald I. Singer
Ronald I. Singer, Sr., 66, of 16062 Hill Valley Road, Mount Union, went to be with the Lord at 12:35 A.M., Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on February 23, 1951, in Mount Union, Pa., he was the son of the late Raymond M. “Red” Singer and Martha G. (Kruis) Singer. His wife, Virginia “Jenny” (Emery) Singer, whom he married on June 16, 1973, in Allenport, survives at their home. He has two sons: Ronald I. Singer, Jr., and wife Nicole of Lewistown and Scott A. Singer of Easton, PA. Siblings are: Raymond M. Singer, Jr., and wife Connie of RD McVeytown, Linda K. Wagner and husband Will of Coalport.
Mr. Singer retired from New Holland Co., having worked many years at the Belleville location and then as a consultant at the plant in New Holland, Pa., for several years.
He graduated from MUAHS in 1969.
Mr. Singer was very active in scouting both as a youth and then as a scoutmaster with Hill Valley Troop # 284, for many years.
He was a member and volunteer for Huntingdon, Mount Union, and Petersburg historical societies and was an active hawk watcher on Jack's Mountain.
He enjoyed family vacations at Chincoteague, Va.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor James Barton officiating. Interment will be in the Haven Rest Memorial Park, Croghan Pike, Shirleysburg.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening, from 7:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M.; and after 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, until the hour of the service.
