Dear Scouting Friend,

This time of year we pause to reflect and give thanks for the many blessings we have.   These include

• Impact on the lives of 1 in 4 total available youth in Centre, Huntingdon, Juniata and Mifflin Counties with quality programming and instilling "Words To Live By."
• More than 2,500 youth attended camping programs at Seven Mountains Scout Camp from May through August.
• The more than 70 young men who will earn the Eagle Scout rank.
• Over 7 1/2 tons of food were collected in October and November for the local food banks to help those in need in our community.
• The more than 1,400 adult volunteer role models that give of their time to lead our youth.
• The Juniata Valley Council is on the cusp of our second consecutive and third in five years National Centennial Quality Council Award.
• Despite a down economy, we are within $20,000 of balancing our operating budget - which we have been balance for the past five years

We are also thankful for the support we receive during this time that will help us balance our operating budget that helps make all of these blessings possible. As we close out the year we are asking our friends who have not yet given this year to make a contribution and for those who have made a gift join us in making an additional gift so we can continue to make a difference.

We have three special ways to recognize your gift:

?         Contributions of $5.00 or more will be recognized with a Special Ornament being placed on our Scouting Tree at the Juniata Valley Council Service Center. 

?         Gifts of $25.00 or more will receive a ?Centennial Calendar? commemorating Scouting's 100^th Anniversary.

?         Gifts of $100 or more will receive your choice of 1 of 3 limited edition Council Shoulder Patches
