Welcome to the Training Home Page

Welcome to the Juniata Valley Council Training Homepage. The training pages on this website are designed to help all levels of leaders from the first year Den Leader to the most experienced Scoutmaster. The leadership training philosophy of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide adult leaders with fundamental information about the aims and purposes of the movement, as well as specifics about their particular roles in Scouting.

A trained leader is knowledgeable and confident in the role being performed.  The knowledge and confidence of a trained leader are quickly sensed by Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, or Venturers and are a positive influence on their lives.

The Juniata Valley Council Training Team commits to training all of our leaders.  We train leaders, we don't just run training courses.  We hope that you take the time to become familiar with the many training opportunities available to you and your unit.

If there is a training you or your unit would like to see offered please contact Chuck Apgar to express your interest.
