Eagle Scout Scholarships 

While looking for information on scholarships available to Eagle Scouts. I have compiled the following list:

N.E.S.A. Eagle Scout Scholarship  Several scholarships for Eagle Scouts are available from the National Eagle Scout Association.

American Legion Eagle Scout of Yr Award  Each American Legion Post is encouraged to nominate a local Eagle Scout for The American Legion's Eagle Scout of the Year award and an $10,000 college scholarships.

National Eagle Scout Contest by NSSAR  The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution has an annual essay contest for Eagle Scouts. Here are all of the details!

National Jewish Committee Eagle Awards  The National Jewish Committee on Scouting has two scholarship awards for Jewish Eagle Scouts.



Eagle Scout Court of Honor Tips

Many troops solicit congratulatory letters from government and business leaders, including the President, members of Congress, and CEOs who are former Scouts. While I have no problem with those letters, I think you should be sure to include relevant religious leaders in the mix. And that means figuring out the most appropriate contacts for each honoree.

If your troop is like many, it?s chartered to a religious institution but draws members from a variety of faith traditions. My United Methodist-sponsored troop includes kids who are Catholic, Jewish, Hindu, Unitarian Universalist, and various flavors of Protestant. Two of our Jewish Scouts will soon have a joint Eagle court of honor, and I think a letter from their rabbi would mean a lot more than one from our church?s pastor.

The best source for contact information, of course, is the Eagle Scout?s own parents, who should be able to help you navigate the waters of unfamiliar faiths. Here are some additional links you may find helpful:
